My Jack Russell Story:
I have a Dottie, too! When she was a pup, she always slept with me. When I moved in my boyfriend, now my husband, I made her sleep on her own bed because my husband didn't want her in the bed. First, she would wait until she heard our condo complex door close. She'd flap her ears (like she'd had a bath) to let me know she wanted in. I would let her. Then she started to wait just until he walked out of our door. Then until he got in the shower, then just when he cleared the bedroom door.... Now, she gets up in the middle of the night and goes "Flap, flap, flap" whenever she wants to get in. By then, my husband is asleep and he's kind of gotten used to it. Dottie is the Queen!
