Story Name: Let Sleeping Dogs Lie
From: Terri Coggins
My Jack Russell Story:
My JR is 7 mts. old. We just moved into a new house that is 2 story. I have a 3 yr. old daughter and a 1 yr.old son. I have 2 other dogs that are not Jacks. Anyway, one night I brought the dogs in for the night and our 2 other dogs curled up next to my husband who was asleep on the couch. Windy, our Jack, usually sleeps with us on my side of the bed, pressed up against my leg so I can't turn over. Well, I put out water and food for them and turned around calling for Windy to go to bed with me. She was gone.
I was frantic. Where could she be? I searched everywhere. Finally, I decided to risk waking up my kids to peek in their rooms. I checked my daughter's room first. There, curled up under her chin was Windy. I whispered "You had me worried sick!!" She raised her head and looked at me as if to say, "Please, WE are trying to sleep" I smiled and thought "Traitor..."The dog now sleeps with my daughter every night and only sleeps with us when my daughter comes to sleep with us when she has a bad dream.
